A.C.A.B – Streets Of Uptown

Drank in a pub on a saturday night
Me and the boys were feelin` alright
Then we walked the streets feelin` loads of pride
Proud with our roots and our way of lives…

Then stood some geezers tried to steal the night
Stared at us, tried to pick a fight
Me and the boys were waiting for the start
As we prepared for an aggro, oh! what a night….

That`s the story of how our lives go
We have been treated like a bunch of snucked up fools
Scorned by many, understood by few
There`s not much things left for us to do
Don`t wanna go back to dark days of mine
Where i`ve gone too far, i could`ve killed someone
But i don`t wanna sit down behaving like a cunt
While watching my mates doing the best they can

In the streets of uptown
Streets op uptown
It is our ups and our downs…..
And it goes around and around….

In the streets of uptown
Streets of uptown
It is our laugh and our tears
And it will last for years……

Hormati Etika Pemuzik Indie

WE are not same like others (kami tidak sama seperti orang lain).

Antara kumpulan indie yang akan menjayakan konsert itu ialah Bittersweet, Butterfingers, Couple, Dead Mushroom, Julie Love, Meet Uncle Hussein, OAG, One Buck Short, Pinhead, Republic of Brickfields, Roots n Boots, Sinopsis, Skudaskudip, The ACAB, The Official, Stone Garden, The Aggrobeats, The Pilgrims, The Times dan They Will Kill Us All.

The Composition of a Dikir Barat Group

The basic elements of a Dikir Barat Group are the two frontmen, the Juara and the Tukang Karut. A Dikir Barat group can be of any size.

In Singapore, during competitions, the standard size of a group will be the two frontmen, fourteen awok-awoks and four percussion players.

The Juara is the singer of the group and he will usually open the performance of his or her group followed by the Tukang Karut. Unlike the Juara, the Tukang Karut will be interacting with the audience with his or her wit. The more engaging a Tukang Karut is the more effective he or she is as a performer. The Juara would be one with the melodious voice.

The awok-awoks are basically the chorus. They will sing and do dance moves, while sitting down in tune with the songs being sung by the two frontmen.

The percussion includes an ibu rebana, an anak rebana, a maracas, a trambouline, gong and canang. The ibu rebana, “ibu” meaning mother, is the main and most important percussion. The anak rebana, “anak” meaning child, supports the ibu rebana and is significantly smaller in size and has a higher pitch to it. Gong and canang set the tempo. Canang is a small traditional malay gong that is set on the floor. It is often played in unison with the gong by one player. Maracas and trambouline are usually used for extra effects to the music. Trambouline is usually played by one of the frontmen when the other is singing.

The Salads – Get Loose

I Came Into This World
As A Gemini
Be Gettin’ High In The La
‘Til The Day That I Die – Jah
So Hear The Words That I’m Spillin’
Crack A Brew Or Two
And Now Ya Know I’m Cold Chillin
You’ll Never See The D
Sip-Sippin’ On Some Sirzup
I Skip The Main Course
And Go Straight For The Dizzert
And Now I Wanna Party With You
C’mon Babe Now
Do Watcha Do

Chorus

Come On Everybody
Get Loose Tonight
Throw A Hand In The Air
If Ya Feelin Aiight
We Don’t Care If Ya Stare
Cause The Music Is Tight
Lemme Hear You Say YEAH
So We Can Do This Right

I Git Busy To Git Dizzy
Like Gillespie
So if You’re With Me
Come On And Hit Me
Just Test Me
You See I Rock Wit The Rhythm
Wit Rhythm I Will Roll
Just A Funny Lookin’ Kid
Wit A Whole Lotta Soul
And I Like To Get Down
Like The Rest O’ Y’all
‘Cept I Got A Little Twist
To The Way That I Ball
If You’re Passin’ Me A Blunt
You Bet I’ll Take A Haul
If You Need To Rock A Party
You Can Give Us A Call
Now Come On Everybody
Who’s In The Mood
Getcha Groove On
If You Got This Dude
If Ya Belly is Empty
Givin’ You Attitude
Do Like Jacob Miller
And Eat Some Food

Come On Everybody
Get Loose Tonight
Throw A Hand In The Air
If Ya Feelin Aiight
We Don’t Care If Ya Stare
Cause The Music Is Tight
Lemme Hear You Say YEAH
So We Can Do This Right

Come On Everybody

Throw A Hand In The Air
If Ya Feelin Aiight
We Don’t Care If Ya Stare
Cause The Music Is Tight
Lemme Hear You Say YEAH

Sheena Easton – Morning Train (Nine To Five)

I wake up every mornin’, I stumble out of bed
Stretchin’ and yawnin’, another day ahead
It seems to last forever, and time goes slowly by
Till babe and me’s together, then it starts to fly

‘Cause the moment that he’s with me, time can take a flight
The moment that he’s with me, everything’s alright
Night time is the right time, we make love
Then it’s his and my time, we take off

Chorus:
My baby takes the morning train, he works from nine till five and then
He takes another home again to find me waitin’ for him

chorus

He takes me to a movie, or to a restaurant, to go
Slow dancing, anything I want
Only when he’s with me, I catch light
Only when he gives me, makes me feel alright

chorus

All day I think of him, dreamin’ of him constantly
I’m crazy mad for him, and he’s crazy mad for me
When he steps off that train, I’m makin’ a fool, a fight
Work all day to earn his pay, so we can play all night

chorus

(chorus repeats out)

He’s always on that morning train
He works so hard
To find me waiting for him…
